Manage part groups

Learn how to manage part groups in the Phasio manufacturing platform

The Planning > Builds interface lets you track, filter, and manage builds across your workflow.

The Builds interface works alongside the [Backlog](/planning/progress-parts-workflows) to give you a complete view of your production flow. While the Backlog shows real-time part movement, Builds provides historical tracking of groups, making it easier to review what was processed, when, and together with what.

Builds are parts that are grouped and expected to be processed together through the same workflow steps.

💡 For workflow examples, see our Powder Bed Printing and FDM Printing guides.

This guide explains how to manage Builds for effective workflow management.

Builds overview

The overview displays all builds in a comprehensive table with the following details:

  • Prefix: Group name, either a system-assigned prefix or a custom name added during part progression
  • ID: Unique identifier for the build
  • Status: Current workstation where the build is located
  • Completed On: Date when all parts in the build moved to the next workstation
  • Created On: Date the build was first created at the current workstation
  • Updated On: Date of the most recent part movement from this workstation (some builds may have no completion date if parts are still in progress)

Filter builds

Use filters to quickly locate specific builds based on workflow status or metadata:

  • Status: Filter by workstation to show builds at specific production stages (e.g., printing). Helpful for tracking parts made under the same conditions.
  • Completed: Filter by completed and incomplete builds.
  • Customer: Show builds linked to a particular customer.
  • Order: Filter by customer order number.
  • Created Between / Completed Between: Narrow down builds by creation or completion date.
