Workflow implementation & examples

By configuring your workflows, you set the exact sequence of production steps that each part will progress through. In Phasio, you can assign specific workstations to each manufacturing process and post-processing option. This setup allows the system to automatically generate and apply the correct workflow to each part as it progresses through production.

How automatic workflow assignment works

Phasio automatically generates a workflow for each uploaded part. This is achieved through the following steps:

• Identifying the manufacturing process and post-processing options selected at upload (either via Storefront or manufacturer’s backend).
• Combining the relevant workstations from the selected process and post-processing options to generate a unique workflow for each part.
• Assigning the resulting workflow to the part, which it will follow through production once the order is confirmed.

Configure process workflows

1. Navigate to Processes from the main sidebar.
2. Select the manufacturing process to configure. ****
3. Go to the Workflows tab.
4. Use the toggles beside each workstation to activate relevant workstations for that process.
5. Click Save Changes to update your settings.

⚠️ Important: Do not assign post-processing workstations on this screen - they are managed separately in the Post-processing instructions below.

Configure post-processing workflows

1. Navigate to Post-processing from the main sidebar.
2. Click the ··· icon on the right side of the relevant post-processing option.
3. Select Edit to open the configuration modal.
4. Scroll down to the Workflow Steps section.
5. Assign one or more workstations relevant to this post-processing option.
6. Click Save to update your settings.
