Manage part specifications
Guide for manufacturers to view and manage part specifications, customer references, requisitions, and manufacturing constraints in the Phasio platform
Phasio automatically stores the manufacturing information for any part that has been ordered through Phasio. This includes all the part specifications like materials, post-processing options, quality requirements and constraints.
View part specifications
- Navigate to Manufacturing > Parts > Specifications on the sidebar menu
- A table of all parts and their specifications will be populated onscreen
- Click on a part to view the detailed part specifications
- Part information will be displayed on the right side of the parts screen including:
- Part revision name
- Creation date
- Last update date
- Manufacturing specifications (process, material, precision, infill)
- Physical properties (volume, surface area, dimensions, convex hull volume, bounding box volume)
- File type
- Watertightness
- Repair status
Add a customer reference
A customer reference allows manufacturers to associate customer organizations to specific parts such that they are able to keep track of part manufacturing information for each customer. Manufacturers can associate a part specification with multiple customer references. Learn how to add a customer reference below:
- On the parts specifications screen, click on the Customer References tab just below the part visualizer
- Click Add Reference
- Input the following details:
- Input a reference name
- Select the customer organization that this reference will be associated to
- Optionally, input a fixed price for this particular part. Whenever the customer places a repeat order for this specific part, this price will override the auto-quote
- Select whether to show this part in the customer-specific catalog
- Click Add Reference
View customer requisitions
- On the parts specifications screen, click on the Requisitions tab just below the part visualizer
- This will show a list of orders that include this part along with order details (customer, quantity, create date, target date, price)
- Click on the order to view the order details
Add manufacturing constraints
Phasio allows manufacturers to add manufacturing constraints to specific parts so that such manufacturing information records are available whenever they need to manufacture the same part again.
- On the parts specifications screen, click on the Manufacturing Constraints tab just below the part visualizer
- Click Add Constraint
- Select the Constraint Type:
- Fixed Orientation: Locks the orientation of the part during manufacturing
- Fixed Location: Locks the location of the part during manufacturing
