Create a new quote (Manufacturer's backend)

Learn how to create a new quote (manufacturer's backend) in the Phasio manufacturing platform

Phasio’s platform offers two quote generation methods to meet diverse business needs:

  • Manufacturer-Generated Quotes: Authorized users from the manufacturer’s team create and customize quotes through the administrative backend.
  • Customer-Initiated Quotes: Customers upload files and submit requests through your customized Phasio Storefront.

This guide explains how manufacturers create and submit quotes using the backend system.

Ways to create a quote

You can create a new quote using any of the following methods:

  • Sidebar: Go to Quotes > Add New from the main sidebar.
  • Quote List: Navigate to Quotes > List and click the + button in the top-right corner.
  • Customer Details: Navigate to Customers > Quotes and click the + button. [🔹 NEW]

1. Select customer account

Begin by selecting a customer account from your verified customer database.

2. Add parts

Under the Parts section, add parts via:

  • Digital File Upload: Import customer part files in industry-standard formats (STL, STEP, IGES, 3MF), or
  • Catalog Selection: Use the approved parts catalog to quote repeat orders faster.

3. Configure part specifications

Click on each individual part to define manufacturing specifications:

  • Technology: Select the manufacturing process (e.g., MJF, SLA).
  • Material: Specify the material composition required for production.
  • Color: Select from available colors.
  • Post-processing: Select finishing operations.
  • Lead time: Establish delivery time expectations.
  • Manual pricing: Use when you need to set custom prices outside the default equation logic.

4. Add supplementary charges

Add supplementary charges by clicking + under the Expenses section to account for:

  • Special tooling.
  • Setup costs.
  • Non-standard manufacturing requirements.

5. Configure quote settings

  • Recipients: Select who will receive the quote document and notification updates via email.
  • Discounts: Apply additional discounts as appropriate.
  • Shipping: Select appropriate shipping options based on customer requirements.
  • Billing Address: Confirm customer billing address for accurate financial documentation and payment processing.
  • Internal Only: Toggle if the quote is for drafting or record-keeping rather than customer communication.

6. Generate the quote

Click Create in the top-right corner to validate inputs and generate the official quote document, completing the creation process.

👉 Once created, quotes are visible in both the manufacturer and customer dashboards—to keep both sides aligned on progress.
