Turn on automatic wall thickness analysis for uploaded CAD files, so Phasio flags parts that are too thin for the selected material and process.

Phasio’s Digital Inventory users can enable automated geometric analysis to evaluate uploaded CAD files for manufacturability. This advanced capability verifies that part geometries meet minimum wall thickness requirements based on the selected material and manufacturing technology, helping prevent production failures before they occur.
This capability boosts success rates by flagging issues early and giving customers instant feedback on designs that need adjustment.
Enable wall thickness checks
- Navigate to Organization from the main sidebar, and select General.
- Scroll down to the Features section.
- Enable the Wall Thickness Check toggle to activate the automated validation system. This feature is available only to Digital Inventory users only.
- Click Save in the top right corner to apply your changes.

Set the thresholds for each material
Wall thickness limits depend on the material and the process. You set two values, in mm, for each material in Manage process materials:
- Wall Thickness Warning — parts thinner than this show a warning in the part visualizer. The customer can still continue.
- Wall Thickness Limit — the absolute minimum for manufacturability. Parts thinner than this cannot proceed to checkout.
What customers see
When a customer uploads a part on your Storefront, Phasio measures its walls. Customers see a warning or a block immediately, before they order. They can fix the design and upload it again, instead of waiting for your team to reject the part.
