Manage process materials

Phasio’s platform lets manufacturers define production materials and pricing variables for each manufacturing technology.

This guide explains how to build a list of reusable process materials commonly used across your manufacturing operations.

Add new material price

1. Click on Process from the main sidebar.
2. Select the process you want to configure, then click the Materials tab.
3. Click + Add Material Price.

This opens the material configuration modal:

1. Material: Enter a clear, descriptive name that communicates the material's properties and applications to customers.

2. Internal Reference: Add internal reference details (not visible to customers).

3. Effective From: Set the date when this material becomes available for customer selection on your storefront.

4. Density: Input the material density in g/cm³ to enable accurate shipping weight and material usage calculations.

5. Purchasable Toggle: Choose whether this material is visible and selectable by customers during checkout.

6. Colors: Define available colors by

   • Entering the exact hexadecimal color code (e.g. #0b0a0a) for precise color matching.
   • Selecting the desired shade using the interactive color slider.

7. Pricing Variables: Enter values for each material property variable defined in the pricing equation associated with this manufacturing process.

8. (For Digital Inventory Users) Set wall thickness analysis parameters (in mm):

   • Wall Thickness Warning: The minimum thickness that triggers a warning in the part visualizer, alerting customers to potential manufacturing issues.
   • Wall Thickness Limit: The absolute minimum thickness required for manufacturability. Parts below this threshold cannot proceed to checkout.

Manage your materials

The materials management screen provides organization tools to search and sort materials based on material name, available colors, and default status.

Access additional management functions by clicking the context menu ··· button to:

1. Set as default: Designate a specific material as the default for the selected manufacturing process, automatically pre-selecting it when customers visit your storefront.
2. Duplicate: Copy an existing material price configuration to quickly create variations with similar parameters, accelerating setup of related materials with shared characteristics.
3. Delete: Remove a material price from available materials, removing it from customer selection options and internal production systems.
