Add a new process
Learn how to add a new process in the Phasio manufacturing platform
Phasio’s platform allows manufacturers to configure a wide range of production technologies—such as FDM, MJF, SLA, and more—based on their unique capabilities. Each manufacturing process can be set up with its own description, material options, and operational parameters to reflect your actual shop floor capabilities.
This guide explains how to add a new manufacturing process to your system.
Getting started
You can create a process in one of two ways:
- Option 1: Create a general process and pricing (not customer specific)
- Navigate to Processes under the Manufacturing section in the main sidebar.
- Click the + button in the top-right corner of the process management screen.
- Option 2: Create a customer-specific process and pricing
- Navigate to Customers under the Growth section in the main sidebar.
- Select a customer and go to the Pricing tab.
- Click the + button in the top-right corner of the custom pricing screen.
Both options will take you through the same process configuration steps.
Add a new process
- Choose your desired manufacturing technology from the supported production methods catalog.
- Provide a unique description that clearly communicates technology capabilities, limitations, and ideal applications.
- Determine whether to implement bounding box limitations. If enabled, define the maximum part size this process can accommodate.
- Toggle the internal technology setting to control visibility. When enabled, the process will be available for internal use only and will not appear as a customer-selectable option on the storefront.
- Click Create Technology to save and add the new manufacturing process.
Process overview
Each process you create has its own settings page. Under Process > Overview, you’ll find the basic configuration options for that manufacturing technology:
- Technology Description: Use this field to describe the process’s capabilities, limitations, and ideal applications for both internal teams and customers.
- Bulk Pricing Quantities: Set volume-based pricing tiers by defining quantity breakpoints that unlock preferential pricing for larger production runs. This helps encourage higher-volume orders with lower cost per unit.
- Internal Technology (Toggle): Enable this toggle to restrict the process to internal use only; disable it to make the process available and visible to customers on the storefront.
- Size Limitations: Define the maximum allowable width, height, and depth to restrict part dimensions for this process.
