Assign operations in routing

Learn how to assign operations in routing in the Phasio manufacturing platform

Phasio allows you to assign specific operations to each manufacturing process, creating a detailed production routing tailored for that process.

Since you may have multiple manufacturing processes, each with unique requirements, it's important to assign only the relevant operations to each one. This ensures that the correct steps are triggered during production, avoids misrouting, and streamlines the entire routing.

Enable operations in the production routing

  1. Navigate to Processes from the main sidebar.

  2. Select the manufacturing process you want to configure, then click the Routing tab.

  3. You'll see a list of all available routing steps, showing every production operation currently set up in your system.

For guidance on creating and configuring routing steps, refer to the routing setup documentation

  4. Select only the operations required for this specific manufacturing process. This defines the exact production sequence and ensures the correct operations are used when producing parts with this process.

  5. Click Save to apply the routing configuration to all future production runs using this manufacturing process.

How this connects to Production Routing

The operations you enable here are the source Phasio reads when deriving a work order's routing automatically. When a part has no designated routing template, each new work order's routing is built fresh from this process configuration — so adding or removing an operation here takes effect on every future production run, with no edits to individual part specs required.

💡 If a part has a designated routing template, that template takes precedence over the process configuration. 👉 Production Routing overview
